Editors' Choice Award

I am writing to tell you all about the recent award I was sent. A couple days ago, I received the coveted Editors' Choice Award. This was quite an honor. The best part is the poem that won it wasn't even close to my best work(I'll put it on here later.) That's right-even on a BAD day I win awards. That's all for now.

Another letter from ISP

Well the ISP wrote me yet another letter. It said that if I give them a poem, they will present it for me. In return for this, I can still have all the awards I'm supposed to get. Well this sounds OK, but then I read that I have to pay $160 for this! What a ripoff-I'm supposed to pay for my own award. Well I e-mailed them, telling them that unless I get my awards for free, I won't give them a poem to read. It's all a scam.

My poems have been a smashing hit at poets.com. Out of 7 reviews received, I have been given 4 five-star reviews. Five is the best you can receive on this site. That's right. PEOPLE LIKE MY POEMS! A couple of barbarians gave me bad reviews, but they obviously know nothing of poetry. That's all for now.

World Cup

I am going to take a break from this little ISP drama to talk about the World Cup. The World Cup is the time when America pretends to care about soccer, which is hard when your soccer team has less talent than an unripened tomato. Anyway, at the beginning of the WC, I picked Sweden to go all the way. A few days ago, Sweden beat the living daylights out of Paraguay in a riveting 1-0 match. Needless to say, I was pretty happy. That's all for now.

I have written back to the International Society of Poets, and demanded that they pay for my travel and stay at Las Vegas. Hopefully they will give in to my demands. How could they expect a poet of my fame to pay almost $600 for registration, let alone plane fares??? I was disgusted that they should expect this from me. I am waiting for a reply to my e-mail.

Letter from International Society of Poets

I am writing to tell all of you, my fans, about my letter from the International Society of Poets after entering one of their contests. In this letter, I was cordially invited to the International Society of Poets Convention and Symposium in Las Vegas, Nevada, from July 20-23. This is the "single largest gathering of poets in history." By arriving, I "will be honored with two separate and very special awards for my poetic achievement." I quote: "After you read your poem in front of fellow poets from over 50 nations around the world, you will be presented with your very own International Outstanding Achievement in Poetry Crystal Award Trophy...$300 value...13" tall...so valuable that we have designed a special carrying case just for you to take it home." Another quote: "We will also present to you a beautifully crafted, antique bronze Commemorative Award Medallion to honor your poetic dedication and achievements." The letter also states that I have been nominated as Poet of the Year for 2006. I will also be inducted as an International Poet of Merit and Honored Member of the Society of Poets for 2006-2007. I'll be eligible for a $20,000 Grand Prize as well as a book publishing contract. In the young poets' division, I can also get a thousand dollar scholarship (runner-ups receive an iPod.) That's right-if I simply show up, I receive, at the least, an iPod, a crystal trophy and a medallion. Not bad. As if this isn't enough, Ruben Studdard will be there. I simply can't lose. Guess Who's Back!

After taking a one month leave from poetry analysis, ezrapoundfan has once again graced this blog with his presence. Read his brilliant analysis of atrocius, which also contains his reason for not being here for the last month. Apparently he joined an Amish Club and was, um, "released" after extensive internet use. Anyway, we're very glad to have him back. Kudos on another brilliant analysis.
